Wes Anderson. Steven Spielberg. Martin Scorsese. These names sound familiar? That's right, they're famous movie directors. But just what does a director actually do? They're in charge of executing a creative vision—could be a movie, TV show, or even a live theatrical event. They supervise the technical team to ensure the camera captures the action just as they envision it, and they coach the actors so that the performances really bring to life the characters in the script. Good directors aren't lucky—they're well trained, so if this is your passion, you'll want to start working on real movies or TV shows, in any capacity, just to learn how they run. Then some day, you'll be the one who yells, "Action!"
